A Sigh of Relief

I am finally able to kick my feet up, because yesterday was my final for this semester. I am so relieved. I am so happy to get a break from the anxiety and stress. Someone, pour me a stiff drink, because I need one.

I can finally get some time to take care of me for a while and focus on my family. I am honestly most excited about immersing myself in some painting.

During my time in therapy, I committed to doing things that bring me absolute joy. Art has always been a safe space for me. Every stroke is my form of release and everything shuts out.

I recently started this piece which is still a work in progress. I am releasing all my love, frustration, joy and pain on that canvas. It feels so good.

What do you do that helps keep you sane? What talent or gift have you neglected and would like to resurrect? Don’t wait till the new year to start. Just get in there and give yourself the joy you deserve.
